  • What is the Unicorn Color Run?

    The Unicorn Color Run is Uintah PTA’s biggest fundraiser of the year and one of our students’ favorite traditions.

    On Color Run Day, every Uintah student runs a course with color stations along the way. Every Unicorn gets to run. No fundraising is required to participate.

    Why do we Color Run?

    Because the “extras” shouldn’t be extra.

    Color Run donations help fund the programs, experiences, and opportunities that make learning at Uintah bigger than the classroom, including arts and enrichment programs, field trips, science experiences, community events, and support for our educators and staff.

    Last year, our community smashed our $80,000 fundraising goal. Let’s do it again, Unicorns!

    What Happens on Color Run Day?

    Students run the Color Run course while volunteers at color stations toss colorful chalk along the way.

    Every student receives a Color Run T-shirt and sunglasses. The color powder is nontoxic, gluten-free, and made from cornstarch. Students may want to bring a towel for after the run.

    If you do not want your student to participate in the color portion of the run, please let their teacher know before the event. Students can still participate without going through the color stations.

    How Fundraising Works

    Students can ask family, friends, neighbors, and other people they know to sponsor their Color Run.

    Each student has an individual fundraising page through 99Pledges. Find your student on the Uintah Color Run fundraising site, open their page, and share their personal fundraising link.

    Students can also collect donations by cash or check. Record those donations on the sponsor sheet included in the sponsor packet, place the cash or checks in the envelope, and return it to your student’s teacher by Thursday, September 17.

    Online fundraising remains open through Sunday, September 20.

    Important Dates

    Tuesday, September 8: Sponsor packets go home + online fundraising opens
    Thursday, September 17: Cash + check donations and sponsor sheets due
    Friday, September 18: Unicorn Color Run
    Sunday, September 20: Online fundraising closes
    Monday, September 21: Prize winners announced

    Prizes

    All donations received by September 20 count toward prizes.

    Schoolwide: If we reach our $80,000 fundraising goal, the entire school earns an extra recess and a special treat.

    Classes: Two classes earn pizza parties:

    • The class with the most sponsors, regardless of the dollar amount raised.

    • The class with the highest total amount raised.

    Individual: Prizes are awarded to:

    • The 10 students with the most sponsors, regardless of dollar amount.

    • The 10 students who raise the highest total amount.

    Individual winners get to select from prizes including electric scooters, mini fridges, remote-control cars, Beats, Needohs, Hydro Jugs, slushie machines, and more.

    Unicorn Drawing: Every student who receives at least one donation, regardless of the amount, will be entered into a drawing to win a Razor Crazy Cart.
